Soccer Tournament Swag Bags

In May of 2021, Jacob made the jump from recreational soccer to competitive soccer. He’s been hooked ever since. Last weekend I even heard him telling his brother, “Soccer is life.” When his coach texted Brandon (the team dad) that he wanted to do a tournament this spring, it was decided that the boys would be headed to the President’s Day Bazooka Tournament in Winter Haven, FL.

Before we knew it, the fees were collected, the registration submitted, and the hotel booked. We were on our way. Before we left, though, we put together these amazing swag bags for the players.

What’s in the bag?

Here is the shopping list we put together of items we felt would make the tournament more fun, especially since it was a first for all but one of the players.

We even added these Skinny Tumblers for the moms.

Spirit Sunglasses

These sunglasses were advertised as polarized. They were inexpensive and gave a blueish hue to everything. They were lightweight and probably won’t hold up for too long, but the color is fun and the vinyl was easy to apply.

In Cricut Design Space, I made sure the words were no more than .33” tall and no more than 4.25” wide.

The font was downloaded from DaFont.

Water Bottles

The water bottles were player favorites in the swag bags. Warning: They come with one of those packets designed to absorb moisture, the ones with the warnings to not eat as it’s poisonous. Make sure to remove these before filling with water.

The key ring and clip are also not installed properly (probably to prevent the metal from scratching the white off the bottle). The clip is nice because it can be fastened on their soccer bags, fence or certain chairs.

To make the water bottles, I used black and orange HTV, as well as this Cricut Design Space project file.

Soccer Mom Tumblers

Since it was also our first time taking a child to a youth tournament, I wanted something fun for cheering on the sidelines. Other than the poms and cow bells, which I knew would be commandeered by siblings (so much fun), I wanted something that screamed soccer mom. At first, I thought maybe shirts, but the weather is so inconsistent in February, so I knew the tumblers were perfect when I saw them.

Here is the Circut Design Space project file I used to create and cut the vinyl.

Overall, the tournament was great fun. The boys learned a lot and it was a great chance for the players to bond with one another. We’re looking forward to the next one.
